Love is a Roguelite (LIAR) is a fun, fascinating and endlessly-replayable turn-based action game with dynamic emotional narrative mechanics, embedded within a procedurally generated love story.

It redefines the rogue-lite genre by introducing the emotional stakes of love, complex relationship dynamics and gender diversity in a rich narrative and cinematic experience. 

The Alien Squid King GNORRG has kidnapped your major crush LAKSHMI, because he too has fallen for her.  But GNORRG is so jealous that he gathered all the LAKSHMI’s from throughout the multiverse so that you, REX LINWOOD, GNORRG’s romantic rival, can’t date any of them. What a jerk!

He stuck all those LAKSHMI’s inside a MULTIPOCALYPSE CRYSTAL, but things went wrong and the crystal has shattered into many tiny shards, each containing a piece of her. You’ve got one little shard, but it’s only enough to give you a fragment of time with LAKSHMI. The good news is, until you win and escape, you’re stuck in GNORRG’s Evil Time Loop, meaning every time you get killed you reboot back to the start of your mission and you’ll learn a bit more about each other.

So not only do you have to fight your way through a whole lot of aliens to recover all the shards and put LAKSHMI back together, you also have to prove that you’re AWESOME and worth cooperating with on this whole get-the-key-and-escape-to-be-lovers mission. And if you suck at the relationship-building part, you can’t win.

LIAR is a game about Love, Relationships and killing a whole bunch of aliens, and will arrive on leading gaming platforms in late-2024.
